INFECTIOUS rhythms, worldly lyrics and impassioned musicianship from Dili to Cairns, Lisbon to Rio, Sol Nation draws upon a wealth of international musical culture to bring you a melting pot of Reggae, Samba, Funk, Salsa, East Timorese folk and African music.

The band is the product of Melbourne's communal music scene - at its heart lies the reggae experience of Paulo Almeida (Dili Allstars), the rock charisma of Colin Badger (Painters and Dockers), and the fiery ardour of soul-mama, powerhouse Kattimoni. Joining in the fun is samba drummer extraordinaire Mark Grunden and Acez Tamba Zeca Mesquita with a tough percussion section, leading the way for the Queen of Bass Ann Metry and bringing it home with sweetheart Jeremy Bennett on the sweet keys.
